DISABILITY DRIVING

Physical disabilities

Individuals with physical disabilities can learn to drive through our CMSC auto schools. We have several vehicles that have been adapted with hand controls and other equipment. If you require additional accommodations, please contact us.

Our instructors are also trained in driver’s instruction for disabled drivers.

Please call 508.835.2333 to discuss your particular situation.

Intellectual, emotional or social disabilities

For individuals with intellectual, emotional or social disabilities, CMSC will make accommodations in our classrooms and with our road lessons.

To reinforce classroom instruction, all students are able to take FREE online practice tests in preparation for their Learner’s Permit test. We will also assist students in dealing with the Registry of Motor Vehicles including the application process and testing.

Not sure if you will be eligible to drive?

You may be wondering if your disability is such that you will not be able to drive even with adaptive equipment. Although your disability may be more or less severe than others, we have trained individuals with a wide range of disabilities, including:

• amputee                • asperger’s syndrome          • arthogryposis

• cerebral palsy         • brain injury                       • dementia

• low vision               • multiple sclerosis               • muscular dystrophy

• spinal cord injury

To determine whether you will be eligible for a driver’s license, you can arrange for a in-person evaluation at our West Boylston, MA training facility. Please call 508.835.2333 for an appointment.
